Good news good news and good news, that how Executive Secretary Atty. Naguib G. Sinarimbo starts the Tapatan Sa ARMM a weekly regular presscon of ARMM at ORG Conference Hall, Cotabato City.

The City Government of Cotabato held the 1st ever Talent Search in the city open to the employees of the local government here.  Initiated by the Human Resource Management Office, the contest provides an opportunity for the employees to discover the talents they possess.

It is also one way of expressing themselves and serves as another avenue of fighting boredom from the usual routine they do from work. The talent search is part of the events of the annual celebration of the Sharif Kabunsuan Festival.


To boost the confidence of the contestants, the host performed first and it was followed by the other wanna be who wished to outstand and win.  The organizers aim for more searchees next year and a longer time to find the best among the best talented individuals in the city.

The contest was held on December 17,2010 at People Palace  where 12 finalists battled for the grand prize

3rd runner up Mr. Julius Panniago, 2nd runner up Ms. Jessebel Torquido and the 1st runner up Mr. Heintjie Gaya with his winning piece That Wonderful Sounds by Tom Jones

Grocers, Importers, Exporters and Industry (SDK) Association Chairman Mr. Chai Soon arrived in the city on January 23,2011 to look into the feasibility of the Barter Trading here in the region.

The Cotabato City Pistol and Rifle Association is holding The Presidents Cup slated on January 21-23,2011 at the 6ID Kampilan Firing Range located at Awang, Datu Odin Sinsual, Maguindanao.  It is a level II PPSA sanctioned match that the team will be competing.

Like all the rest of the city’s in the country, Cotabato City  joined in the simultaneous commemoration of  the 114^th year of Dr. Jose P. Rizal’s  martyrdom at the city plaza early morning of December 30,2010.

Present during the said commemoration were City Mayor Japal G. Guiani who led the flag raising ceremony and wreath laying at the statue of Rizal.

Other city officials also joined the occasion together with the Philippine National Police, Armed Forces of the Philippines, Knights of Columbus, the Order of Demolay, government employees and other Cotabateños.

It has been a knowledge for all of us that Rizal who is our National Hero worked in his own artistic way for Filipinos to gain respect and freedom from the Spaniards.

He wrote the Noli Me Tangere and El Felibusterismo which is his way of sharing the treatment of the Friars to the Filipinos.  This books played a great role in the revolt of the Pinoy’s with the colonizers.

One quote that most leaders of the country and the rest of the Filipinos live by is that the “Youth is the Hope of the Fatherland”.  I hope that the next generation of Pinoys will continue this legacy.

fiRsT eVeR TRI MEDIA sPortS fEsTiVaLs of ARMM

Men and women of the tri – media in the ARMM were gathered for a friendship game facilitated by the Bureau Public Information (BPI) of the ARMM Region.  The sportsfest aims to provide an avenue for the media practitioners in this part of the region to get together in a healthy competition.

Several sports event were played during the 2-day activity held on December 27 to 28 , 2010 at the ARMM Sport Complex but other games were held in the respective venue where it will be played. 

This is the first ever media sports event organized by the regional government in this autonomy.  Here is the list of winners in their respective sports event:
